Getting started with Roleprint for Jira, and what each page of the app shows.

Getting started

Install Roleprint from the Atlassian Marketplace; a Jira administrator has to do this. Then open Jira settings, choose Apps, and select Roleprint in the sidebar.

The first snapshot starts on its own. On a large site it can take a while: it runs in the background within Jira's API quota, and the app shows "Scan running" until it is done. After that, Roleprint takes a snapshot every day, and Re-scan takes one whenever you need it.

The pages of the app

Overview
The latest snapshot, the number of projects and findings, and findings by type and severity.
Projects
Every project with its permission scheme. Open one to see who can do what in it, and through which role or group.
Findings
Risky grants and deactivated accounts that still own projects, by severity, each linked to its project or account.
Reviews
Start an access review, decide Keep, Remove or Exception for every row, then close it and export the evidence pack.
Configuration
How close the site is to Jira's data limits, custom fields nobody uses, and schemes, workflows and statuses nothing uses.
History
Compare two snapshots, for the whole site or one project, and export the differences as CSV.
Audit log
Jira's audit log, read every five minutes, so you can see who changed a scheme, role or group, and when.
Settings
Your organisation's email domains, and how many projects an account must administer before it is flagged.
